Paper Configuration
Introduction
The Paper Configuration feature in the examX module is a sophisticated tool that enhances the evaluation process by allowing detailed question-wise marks entry and generating Outcome-Based Education (OBE) reports. This guide will help you understand how to use this feature for both physical and digital evaluations.
Navigating to the Feature
- Sign in to the CampX platform.
- Go to the 'Exams' section on the left sidebar.
- Click on 'Paper Configuration' to begin setting up your exam papers.
Using the Paper Configuration Feature
Upload Documents for Reference
- Click on 'Upload Question Paper' to add the PDF file of the question paper.
- Use 'Upload Answer Sheet' to provide the answer sheet template for evaluators.
- Select 'Upload Pdf file of the Schema' to include the evaluation schema, which serves as a reference for evaluators.
Creating Parts of the Question Paper
Creating a well-structured question paper is fundamental for effective evaluation. The 'Paper Configuration' feature allows you to replicate the layout and content of your question paper within the CampX system, which can be beneficial for both physical and digital evaluations.
Adding a New Part:
- Click on the '+ New Part' button to start outlining a section of your question paper.
- Enter a 'Part Title' to identify the section (e.g., Part A, Part B, etc.).
- Determine if there is a choice option within this part by selecting 'Yes' or 'No'. This will indicate whether students are required to answer all questions or can choose from a subset.
- Specify the 'Number of Questions' included in this part to inform evaluators of the structure they should expect.
- Indicate the 'Number of Answers required' from students, especially if the part has optional questions.
Organizing Parts and Subparts:
Use the '+ Add Sub Question' feature to break down complex questions into subparts, which is particularly helpful for multi-step problems or questions with multiple components.
- Ensure each subpart is clearly labeled and has its specific marks, CO mapping, and taxonomy level set accurately to maintain clarity for evaluators.
Reviewing and Editing Parts:
After adding a part, you can review it for accuracy and completeness. If changes are needed, you can edit the part by clicking the edit icon next to it.
By meticulously configuring each part of the question paper, you set a clear framework for the evaluation process. This attention to detail facilitates a smoother marking process and allows for a granular analysis of student responses against the intended learning outcomes.
Adding Questions and Details
After defining a part, follow these steps to add questions and details:
- Click on '+ Add Question' to enter the question text.
- Specify the marks allocated for the question.
- Set the CO (Course Outcomes) mapping and the taxonomy level which categorizes the question according to cognitive levels.
Recreating the Question Paper
Follow this structured approach to add all parts and questions to mirror the structure of the physical question paper. This structured approach enables evaluators to input marks for each question, enhancing the accuracy and detail of the evaluation.
