Attendance Marking Feature​

Purpose and Scope​

The Attendance Marking feature in CampX is designed to allow faculty to efficiently track and record student attendance through both web and mobile applications. This system supports general attendance marking, classroom group attendance, and period-wise attendance recording.

Accessing the Feature​

Faculty can access the attendance feature via Classrooms > My Classrooms on the web, or through the faculty mobile app for on-the-go access.

Functionality Overview​

Attendance Marking in Mobile​

  • Faculty can view their daily class schedule in the mobile app.
  • Class sessions are indicated with green checks or orange alerts to show attendance status.
  • By selecting a class, faculty can choose topics covered and mark them as partially or fully completed.
  • The subsequent screen displays a roll call with a default 'present' status.
  • Absent students can be marked, reviewed, and submitted to finalize the attendance.

Period Wise Marking in Mobile​

  • Applicable for courses with multiple consecutive periods.
  • Faculty can select or deselect periods for a class before proceeding with attendance.
  • Attendance for the remaining periods can be marked following the same steps as the general attedance marking.

Classroom Group Wise Marking​

  • For subjects with classroom groups, typically labs or practicals, attendance is recorded by the assigned faculty for their respective group.
  • The process follows the same steps as the general attendance marking but is restricted to the students within the assigned group.

Attendance Marking in Web​

  • Within the Attendance tab of a subject/classroom, faculty can see a list of sessions.
  • By selecting Mark Attendance for a session, faculty can replicate the mobile marking process.
  • The web interface also supports period-wise and group-wise attendance recording.

Editing Attendance​

  • Faculty can edit attendance by accessing the previous date's schedule and selecting the class session.
  • The ability to edit attendance is contingent upon admin configuration settings.

Additional Notes​

  • Attendance marking is critical for maintaining accurate academic records and is facilitated by both web and mobile platforms for flexibility.
  • Any changes in attendance due to academic calendar updates must be reflected in the system, adhering to the configured settings.
