Organization Departments

Introduction

The Organization Departments module is a vital component of the CampX ecosystem, serving as a central hub for managing the various departments within an educational institution. This feature allows for the efficient organization of academic and administrative departments, assignment of department heads, and the smooth import and export of departmental data. This guide provides a step-by-step process for managing Organization Departments within the PeopleX Platform.

Getting Started

To begin managing Organization Departments, here’s how to navigate:

  1. Sign in to your CampX account and access PeopleX app.
  2. Click Settingson the PeopleX Sidebar.
  3. Click on Organization to view the list of dropdown items.
  4. Click on Departments to view the list of departments created in the organization.

Creation of Department

To create a new department:

  1. Click on the Add Department button located at the top right of the Departments page.
  2. Enter the name of the new department in the Name field.
  3. Click Create Department to save the new department.

Assigning Head of Department to a Specific Department

  1. Find the department you wish to assign a head to and click the edit icon next to it.
  2. In the Edit Department window, click on the Click to search field under Select Department Head.
  3. Choose the appropriate faculty member from the list or search by name.
  4. Click Update Department to assign the selected individual as the head of the department.

Import of Departments

To import multiple departments at once:

  1. Click on Import at the top right of the Departments page.
  2. In the Import Departments window, download the sample CSV or XLSX file and fill it with your department data.
  3. Click Choose File to select your completed file and then Upload File to import the departments.

Export Departments

To export the list of departments:

  1. On the Departments page, simply click on the Export button.
  2. Choose the format in which you wish to export the data (typically CSV or XLSX).
  3. The file will download automatically, containing the list of departments.
