Principal Dashboard

This document outlines the structure and content for a Power BI dashboard designed for the Principal at CampX, focusing on key academic and administrative metrics across different degrees. Each section provides insights into various aspects of the institution's operation, helping in strategic decision-making and daily management.

Dashboard Overview

The dashboard aggregates data across various degrees, offering a comprehensive view of student demographics, faculty metrics, attendance, academic progress, and research initiatives. It's structured to provide a quick yet thorough overview of the institution's current status.

Section 1: Program and Year Wise Student Numbers and Attendance

Description: This table combines a list of programs with academic years on both axes, offering a snapshot of student enrollment numbers alongside today's student attendance for each specific program and year. It merges the original student numbers and today's attendance overview into a single, comprehensive view.

Visualization Type: Table with embedded attendance data.

Enhancements: Conditional formatting to highlight attendance anomalies.

Section 2: Total Faculty and Staff Metrics

Description: Presents a breakdown of the institution's faculty and staff, categorizing teaching staff (e.g., Professors, Assistant Professors, and other teaching roles) and non-teaching staff. This pie chart offers a visual representation of the composition, helping to understand the balance between teaching and non-teaching personnel.

Visualization Type: Pie chart.

Section 3: Faculty Attendance Metrics

Description: This section uses multiple cards to display today's faculty attendance metrics, including total faculty count, number and percentage of faculty absent today, late check-ins, and those on duty. It provides a clear picture of faculty availability and punctuality on any given day.

Visualization Type: Multiple cards.

  • Card 1: Total faculty.
  • Card 2: Absent today and percentage.
  • Card 3: Late Check-ins and percentage.
  • Card 4: On duty and percentage.

Section 4: Overall Student and Faculty Ratio

Description: Displays a single metric that represents the overall student-to-faculty ratio, offering insight into whether there are adequate teaching resources for the student body. This metric is crucial for understanding the teaching capacity and for planning resource allocation.

Visualization Type: Single metric visualization.

Section 5: Program-Batch Off Track

Description: A table that identifies the top five program-years with the least progress, based on the average of total sessions planned versus conducted throughout the program in a year. This highlights areas needing immediate attention to stay on course with the academic calendar.

Visualization Type: Table.

Columns: Program | Year | % of progress (Avg of total session planned vs. conducted.)

Section 6: Exams and Results

Description: Two parts in this section:

  • Current Active/Scheduled Exams: Lists exams that are either happening or scheduled soon, providing details like exam titles and dates.

  • Recent Results Published: Shows the latest exam results, including the title, number of students who appeared, pass percentage, and the number of students with backlogs.

Visualization Type: Tables for both exams and results.

Section 7: Deparment Wise Research Projects

Description: Visualizes the number of research projects by department through a bar graph. This representation helps in identifying which departments are more active in research, facilitating support and resource allocation for research initiatives.

Visualization Type: Bar graph.
