Head of Department (HOD) Dashboard

The HOD Dashboard provides Heads of Departments at CampX with a multifaceted view of departmental metrics, focusing on student and faculty attendance, academic progress, and course management. This document outlines the structure and content for each section, utilizing Power BI's visualization capabilities.

Dashboard Overview

The HOD dashboard compiles essential data points across multiple programs within a single department. It is customized to track student enrollment and attendance, faculty presence, course progress, and backlog statistics for an in-depth analysis of departmental health and academic rigor.

Section 1: Program Wise Student Enrollment with Attendance

Description: Displays student enrollment figures for each program within the department, integrating attendance data. The attendance information is categorized by year and program, offering a snapshot of student engagement and participation in academic activities.

Visualization Type: Matrix/Table with integrated attendance data.

Enhancements: Conditional formatting to highlight attendance concerns.

Section 2: Faculty Attendance Metrics

Description: This section uses multiple cards to display today's faculty attendance metrics, including total faculty count, number and percentage of faculty absent today, late check-ins, and those on duty. It provides a clear picture of faculty availability and punctuality on any given day.

Visualization Type: Multiple cards.

  • Card 1: Total faculty.
  • Card 2: Absent today and percentage.
  • Card 3: Late Check-ins and percentage.
  • Card 4: On duty and percentage.

Visualization Cards: Count and percentage of total faculty, absences, late check-ins, and on-duty statuses.

Section 3: Classroom with Least Attendance Average

Description: Lists the top 5 classrooms with the lowest average attendance, providing HODs with immediate areas that may require intervention or further investigation.

Visualization Type: Table.

Columns: Classroom Name | Attendance Average.

Section 4: Classroom Courses with Least Semester Progress

Description: Identifies courses within the department that are behind schedule. The table lists classroom courses along with planned versus actual session counts and the percentage of sessions that remain unmarked or incomplete.

Visualization Type: Table.

Columns: Classroom Course | Planned Sessions | Unmarked Sessions with %.

Section 5: Year Wise and Program Wise Attendance Ranges

Description: Provides a year-wise and program-wise breakdown of attendance ranges, grouped into below 50%, 50-75%, and above 75%. This data helps in quickly identifying trends and potential attendance issues across different academic programs.

Visualization Type: Custom table, as illustrated in the provided image.

Columns: Year | Below 50% | 50%-75% | Above 75%.

Rows: Program names with years as subcategories.

Section 6: Year and Program Wise Backlogs

Description: Follows a similar structure to the attendance ranges table, replacing attendance data with backlog counts. It highlights the number of students with 0, 1, 2, and 3+ backlogs, providing a clear view of academic challenges within the department.

Visualization Type: Table.

Columns: Year | 0 Backlogs | 1 Backlog | 2 Backlogs | 3+ Backlogs.

Rows: Program names with years as subcategories.
