Session Management for Mentor-Mentee Interactions​

Purpose and Scope​

Session management within the Mentor Mentee module of CampX is a critical feature for documenting and tracking the progress of mentees. It allows faculty to record detailed notes and action items from their mentorship sessions, providing a structured approach to student development and support.

Accessing the Feature​

Faculty can view their assigned mentees in the My Mentees page, where they can access detailed information including names, roll numbers, and next follow-up dates.

Functionality Overview​

Mentee Overview​

  • Upon selecting a mentee, the student's details will be displayed at the top of the page.
  • A timeline on the left side lists previous sessions and their details.

Adding a Session​

To document a new interaction, faculty can click the Add New Session button. The session entry form prompts for various details such as:

  • Session Name: Identifying title for the session.
  • Mode of Consultation: Options for offline or online meetings.
  • Start and End Time: Duration of the session.
  • Points for Mentee: Guidance or instructions for the mentee.
  • Next Action Items: Expected tasks or goals for the mentee before the next session.
  • Observations and Reflections: Mentor’s insights or feedback regarding the mentee's progress.
  • Next Follow-Up Date: Scheduling the subsequent interaction.

Session Details View​

  • All the details entered during the session creation are visible in the session details view for each mentee.
  • Faculty can use the next follow-up date to schedule future sessions.

Integration with Student App​

Mentee Accessibility​

  • Mentees can view the details of their sessions within the student app.
  • This feature provides them with access to the mentor's observations, reflections, and prescribed action items, aiding in their personal and academic growth.

By leveraging session management, mentors can provide consistent and meaningful guidance to their mentees. It ensures that each session builds upon the last, facilitating a productive mentorship journey. Furthermore, the visibility of these details in the student app empowers mentees to review their progress and stay informed about their development path.
